The Children’s Hunger Project
Todd Thomas Home is involved with The Children’s Hunger project. This is a 501©(3) non-profit charity dedicated to eliminating the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger. A team of volunteers and dedicated staff provide food packages to elementary school students on Friday of each week. This kid-friendly food required no refrigeration or cooking. Students who would normally come to school hungry on Monday mornings, instead return well-fed and ready to learn.
50% of Brevard County students are on the free and reduced-price lunch program. Many students who receive breakfast and lunch at school have few food resource at home on the weekends. The Children’s Hunger Project addresses a serious need for the children in our community.
